Pre-Handover Inspection

Hi Guys,

Apologies we have not updated our blog in such a long time for reasons which we will explain soon. I have had requests from a few people interested in the Emperor Q1 to provide updated photos of the Stanford facade.

We have just had our pre-handover inspection and expect to be moving into the house in late Jan.

More updates in regards to the history of our experience will come over the Christmas break.

One brick a day keeps the customer away

Its been a long time since our last post, there has been some significant delays on our site over the past two months with roughly six weeks + of elapsed idle time, however we were told this was due to the brick batch not being ready and a shortage of brick layers to do the work once they arrived.

Over the past four weeks the brickie team have been working on our site and the bricks have been going up very slowly, it seems almost like one brick a day kind of slow, but as long as its done professionally and were in before Christmas, it won't bother us so much.

We have also had the frame & pre-plaster stage inspections too during this period, with approximately 9 minor defects identified, we have been told that all of these items will be remediated which made us happy.

Tiling has started!

Tiling has started and is well under way... I suspect the frame stage is almost complete once they complete all the tiling and the guttering!

We are really pleased with the way the tiles turned out too... they looked so dark in the showroom, but have lightened up quite allot in the sunlight.

We have windows!!!

Yes thats right folks, we have some windows! Not all the windows, just the A&L ones, with the wooden windows to come... not exactly sure what stage they get put in.

More progress on the house today, despite the bitterly cold weather (it actually snowed for a brief moment in the melbourne CBD today), these guys were still out building our house! If I was home, I would have made some of my superb espresso coffee to warm yas up! Apparently I make the best coffee in town...

Wow first story frame is up! These guys certainly have some momentum going, all this has happened within 2 weeks, hopefully it continues for the remainder of the build process as we hope to be having our first Christmas in our new home! Great job guys!

Slab is down!

Today the slab was poured! I just happened to be casually walking past when it happened :D ... There were monster trucks to assist with the pouring which looked quite impressive. We stealthed back to the site after the tradies left to get a picture of the slab.

The slab... So excited! Yay!
